Come and meet artist Shepherd Manyika at Abbey People’s Family Forest Picnic, next Monday 28th July and try your hand at making a photograph using sunlight.
Shepherd will be running a cyanotype, which is one of the earliest forms of photography, workshop for all ages to try their hand at priniting with light! Whilst you are producing your print, Shepherd will be gathering stories about East Barnwell to inform the work he will be creating for the new homes and community centre being built by Cambridge Investment Partnerships in East Barnwell.
Shepherd is an artist-educator whose works take on multiple formats and mediums. He is interested in memory, place, space and repair as restoration. The themes of his workshops include, play, music and sound, all used to create transformative art spaces.
The event runs from 10.30am-1.00pm, with many more activities and a picnic lunch also available. Booking is required.
