Come and join us at St Augustines for a presentation by Jacky Oliver, the artist who has been appointed to develop a new piece of work as part of the formert Murketts site development on HistonĀ Road in Cambridge.
Jacky will be talking about her practice which started at the Royal College of Art and has spanned the last 25 years. She will also share her ideas for the commission for the site of 137 – 143 Histon Road development. Drawing inspiration from the Cambridgeshire archives and the history of the area, Jacky would also love to gather any memories that local residents, or people with a connection to Histon Road might wish to contribute to the project. Bringing together all her research, and gathering feedback from the local community, Jacky will be developing ideas through model making and drawing and will share this through talks, workshops, social media and her website.
Jacky Oliver creates sculptural metalwork spanning small, intricate objects to large-scale architectural installations, her work has been featured in exhibitions, commissions, museum collections as well as creating work for domestic settings.
